Keira Knightley rocks Miu Miu's spring prints at Olivier Awards lunch
-Posted by: SummerAngel

At yesterday's Olivier Awards lunch at the Haymarket Hotel, nominee Keira Knightley displayed her sartorial talents as she opted for a quirky print blouse-and-skirt combo from Miu Miu's Spring 2010 collection.

The actress is nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her part in The Misanthrope, but we think she deserves some major style accolades for this look, which was appropriately sophisticated (yet still demure) for the lunch. The outfit also featured the trademark cheekiness that makes Miu Miu such a loveable label: printed naked ladies gracing the blouse and a puppy print adorning the skirt. This outfit (which Knightley accessorized with a black bag, Miu Miu's black satin platforms and a messy bun) is very on-trend for the upcoming season, from the beige-coloured blouse (neutrals were all over the catwalks) to the prints, which are also a big Spring 2010 trend. Spice Girl Mel C (nominated for Best Actress in a Musical for her role in Blood Brothers) and James Earl Jones were also at the event.

And it looks like Prada has hit the nail on the head with spring dressing that starlets are going to love - during LFW, Daisy Lowe wore a bird-printed dress with a criss-cross bodice from the label (and the same Miu Miu platforms as Knightley) for the Elle Style Awards.

Keira Knightley chats to InStyle!
-Posted by: SummerAngel

Keira Knightley, Rachel Weisz, Ruth Wilson and Hayley Atwell are just some of the amazing talents nominated for the Laurence Olivier Awards (to be held on 21 March). And InStyle was at the nominees lunch yesterday…

There were more luvvies gathered in one room than at a Shakespeare convention when InStyle attended the Laurence Olivier Awards nominee lunch yesterday in London’s chic Haymarket Hotel. The annual Awards honour the best theatre shows and performances throughout the year (the swanky ceremony will be held on 21 March).

Keira Knightley (up for Best Supporting Actress for The Misanthrope) caused the biggest stir at the bash – she looked statuesque and elegant in head-to-toe Miu Miu (and yes, she’s exquisitely beautiful up close with perfect porcelain skin).

'I am a fully blown luvvie now,' she giggled to us. 'I went into doing the play with an extraordinary level of fear and to come out of it with an Olivier nomination is just beyond anything I could imagine!'

So how was it treading the boards with the gorgeous Damian Lewis as your co-star? 'He’s an absolute sweetheart!' she gushed. 'As it was my first time on stage, the whole cast, especially Damian, was so supportive and patient with me.'

But, most importantly, what will she wear to the awards ceremony? 'I’ve got no idea!' she admitted. 'Hopefully I’ll get sent a selection of lovely outfits - so that’ll be fun.'

We also bumped into friend of InStyle, gorgeous Jane Eyre and Small Island actress Ruth Wilson (also up for the Supporting Actress gong for A Streetcar Named Desire). 'I’m really excited to be nominated,' Ruth said. It was only the second professional production I’d ever done so it’s a great honour and privilege.'

Hayley Atwell stopped by to tell us that she fell off her bed when she heard she’d been nominated for her performance in A View From the Bridge. 'The producer of the show called me and I had to listen to his message about two or three times. I couldn’t believe it. I just feel very humbled by the whole thing,' she confessed.

'I’ve also worked with some of the other nominees before – like Keira and Ruth. Actually Ruth is a close friend”. So there’ll be no hair-pulling on the night if either of them win instead of you? 'No, not at all. In fact I’d be so happy if Ruth won!'

Keira Knightley Ignores Critics
-Posted by: SummerAngel

KEIRA Knightley doesn’t care what the critics say about her performances — she only trusts her father’s opinion.

The British actress — who’s currently appearing in The Misanthrope on London’s West End — insists her actor dad Will’s criticisms are “more brutal” than any magazine.

“I still haven’t read anything from the critics, but by the fact that I’m here, I’m assuming it went OK,” said Keira. “I don’t do it at all for anything. I think you have got to be very careful where you take your criticism from. It can completely throw you. It has to be someone that you know and you can trust, because then that’s helpful.

“I have a core group of people who I will absolutely listen to 100 per cent when they say something negative or positive. My father is absolutely extraordinary. I think he’s probably more brutal than any critic ever would be so I tend to go with him.”

Keira, 24, has previously admitted that people think she’s a terrible actress.

“Every time I do an interview with the English press, one of their questions is, ‘How do you feel knowing that everyone thinks you’re a sh*t actress?’” Keira, who was 2008’s second-highest-earning actress, told the March issue of Elle magazine.

“You have to be selective about the people whose advice and opinions you take,” she said.

“I know [my parents] would never tell me I was sh** because they were trying to hurt me,” she says. “It would always come from a very sincere place.”

Knightley to make West End debut
-Posted by: SummerAngel

Keira Knightley will make her stage debut in the West End later this year in a modern-day version of Moliere's comedy, The Misanthrope.

The Oscar-nominated actress, 24, will play an ambitious American film star, the love interest of a British playwright played by Band Of Brothers and Life actor Damian Lewis, who leads the cast.

Lewis, 38, plays the "misanthrope" Alceste, who is disillusioned and angry with hypocrisy and vows to reject society.

But his plans are derailed when he falls madly in love with Knightley's character, Jennifer, a darling of the social scene.

Writer Martin Crimp's updated version of the work transports the action from 17th century Paris to contemporary London.

Tara Fitzgerald, Dominic Rowan and Tim McMullan are also in the play, which opens at the Comedy Theatre on December 17 and runs until March 13.

Keira Knightley, Colin Farrell tread ‘London Boulevard’
-Posted by: Quivi

Keira Knightley and Colin Farrell will link up on the big-screen for the first time in “London Boulevard,” a drama set in the British capital, it was reported Thursday.

Farrell, a Golden Globe winner earlier this year for his performance in “In Bruges” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” star Knightley join a cast which features Ray Winstone and David Thewlis, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film marks the directorial debut of Oscar-winning screenwriter William Monahan, who picked up best adapted screenplay award in 2007 for Martin Scorsese’s gangster drama “The Departed.”
